Xerox has taken part in IPEX-2010, the world’s largest international trade show of printing, publishing, multimedia, and communication technologies, that took place between May 18th and 25th in Birmingham, UK According to the organizers’ estimates, the number of visitors exceeded 50,000.
At the 2000 square meter stand, virtually the whole range of Xerox digital printing technologies was showcased, including Xerox Color 800/1000 full color digital press, enhanced versions of the acclaimed Nuvera and iGen4 presses as well as perspective developments, a concept of industry-grade inkjet press. All the featured solutions, starting with high-speed rollfed units and monochrome industrial printing systems up to wide-format printers and automated packaging complexes, were demonstrated on real-life jobs provided by Xerox users from around the globe. All in all, more than 100 applications were shown at the stand, including advertising, direct mail, books and manuals, packaging, photo products, outdoor signage and more products and services from both В2В and consumer markets.
The most prominent newcomer was Xerox Color 800/1000 full color digital printing press equipped with the fifth unit for spot or solid application of Clear Dry Ink, which produces varnishing effect. The reason for excellent performance of the unit is the high print speed of 80 or 100 А4 pages per minute, and the high 2400х2400 dpi resolution and the new EA toner and matt print guarantee superb quality. The machine was constantly besieged by the visitors who had a change to fully assess all the details of its prints in the bright illumination of the stand.
A great excitement was evoked by the technological demonstration of a full color rollfed industry-grade inkjet press aimed at the printing on low-cost paper. With the roll width up to 520 mm, the machine offers print speed of 152.4 m/min at 600 dpi. The unit resin-based ink formula ensures instant curing of ink drops and steady adhesion to uncoated paper.
The show’s visitors took much interest in automation and web-to-print tools essential for the development of modern digital printing business. Also complex systems integrating Xerox FreeFlow elements with Avanti and ePrint Direct solutins were demonstrated. The ways of implementing those solutions in various production environments (small, medium, or large) were showcased.
